-Wireless: These devices are wireless and communicate with the computer via Bluetooth or a USB receiver. They require batteries to operate.

-Trackball: These devices have a ball on top that you rotate with your fingers to move the pointer.

-Touchpad: A touch-sensitive pad built into laptops that allows you to control the cursor with finger gestures.
